Spend three days with Barbara Ellison exploring the beauty of flowers. You will learn innovative ways to capture their essence both out in the gardens as well as in the studio. We will focus on texture, color and form as we record these beauties in a nursery setting. Barbara will demonstrate flower arranging and studio lighting, and you will be able to try your hand at various lighting techniques with still lifes. Bring your own equipment, and there will be a whole array of Canon lenses and flashes available for you to experience during the workshop, including a 5X lifesize lens for extreme macro. Once you create your enticing flower portrait, you will learn different ways to present your work, through books, handmade papers and cards. This workshop will start with a welcome evening of social and informational exchange on Thursday, February 28 at 6:30 pm.

BARBARA ELLISON has been fortunate to be able to combine five of her favorite pastimes into her imaging experience – photography, art, gardening, travel and teaching. As a pro market representative for Canon USA she has had the opportunity to try her hand at photographing various subjects, ranging from political events to sports, from scenics to macro. When her husband, Michael Kovach, opened up an orchid nursery, she found that she was drawn to those unusual orchids and was able to spend time exploring different ways to present them. She has taught photography workshops around the country. Her work has been published in several books, and has been shown in galleries in Ohio, Maryland, North Carolina and Florida.
