Description

Today's black and white printmaker has many creative options for crafting a fine black and white print. There are many choices for papers, printers and workflows, all lending themselves to creative expression and exhibition quality prints. In this intensive three day workshop, George Schaub will explore many of the creative tools in Photoshop CS3 that open even more doors for monochrome printers. Topics covered will include: processing Raw digital image files for black and white printing, local contrast and exposure control, toning effects and techniques, selection and layer masking tools and choosing the right paper and ink set for best results. The emphasis will be on creating prints from your image files. Critiques and skill sessions will be conducted throughout class time. Bring image files for printing, including images captured with a digital camera and/or scans from conventional film.
