Description

Adobe Photoshop Lightroom is fast becoming the program of choice for many photographers shooting with digital SLRs. Lightroom is designed just for photographers, and it cuts to the core tool set important to digital photographers without compromising power, flexibility or quality. Lightroom is also a database, it speeds access to your images and is capable of creating extremely fast data searches. Lightroom also has its creative side, found in its use of presets, which can accommodate a range of effects. Presets allow you to save any of the adjustments available in the Develop modules and apply them to any other images. We will explore creative adjustments such as Black and White Conversion, Split Toning, Faux Infrared as well as settings to enhance color or black and white portraits. We will then explore how to save, organize, edit and use our created presets on new images. With our processed images we will take advantage of the printing, web gallery and book creation capabilities of Lightroom. Photoshop Lightroom will simplify your workflow and will make you more productive, organized, and creative with the images from your digital SLR. This workshop is designed for photographers and photo educators.

Biography

JOHN REUTER is the director of the Polaroid 20x24 Studio. Throughout the twenty years of working with other artists, he maintained his own work and vision in a very different direction, using the photographic process to transform the camera’s reality into a more “mythic” reality. His SX-70 collages gave way to painted Image Transfers, then to Digital imaging. The freedom of image making provided by this new medium inspired his work in ways reminiscent of the early SX-70s. This new body of work draws on John’s work in painting as well as combining imagery through digital collage. Today he works in both traditional photography and with images created entirely with digital sources.
