Description
Lee Varis will be your drill sergeant in this intense Photoshop workshop. You will learn essential color correction techniques through practice sessions with a range of photographic images. After a firm grounding in basic color management, the class will progress from simple to complex correction problems that address numerous common color and tone defects. The main focus will be on RGB color but CMYK conversions as well as CMYK specific techniques will be covered. Digital camera RAW files will be covered using Adobe Camera Raw and Lightroom and a new RAW processing strategy will be explored. LAB color moves will be introduced and gradually you will learn a comprehensive strategy for approaching digital photographic image enhancement.

| Biography
LEE VARIS has been a photo-illustrator in Hollywood combining photography with digital image manipulation for the last 20 years. Lee is currently the director of digital services at the Icon, a large commercial photo lab in Los Angeles servicing the advertising and entertainment industries. He is also the president of the LADIG (Los Angeles Digital Imaging Group) a non profit educational group devoted to advancing the art of digital imaging and supporting the local digital arts community. His work has been featured on movie posters, video box covers, CD covers, brochures and catalogs. His creative imaging has been featured in National Geographic, Newsweek and Fortune magazines as well as PDN, New Media, Micro Publishing News, PC Photo, Studio Photography, Rangefinder and PEI. Lee has also been involved with consulting and training activities for numerous corporate clients. He did two series of imaging seminars for Apple Computers that took him around the country. Lee’s latest book is Skin: The Complete Guide to Digitally Lighting, Photographing, and Retouching Faces and Bodies, a professional how-to guide to all aspects of digital photography of people offering intermediate and advanced Photoshop techniques.
