Description

This workshop will introduce photographers to the digital techniques and tools for adjusting and enhancing images –the digital equivalent of what used to happen in the darkroom. If you have never worked with Photoshop, but would like to learn how to improve your images, this workshop is for you. After an overview of the image adjustment process, you will go into the field to take some digital photographs and will then return to the lab to work with your images in Photoshop CS3. In the lab, you will learn about cropping, adjusting overall contrast and color, cleaning up defects, sharpening, and saving. After mastering these basic skills, we will extend the adjustment process and explore simple techniques using layers, more refined color correction, and, if time permits, local contrast control with the history brush. Lab work will allow time to practice and master basic Photoshop CS3 skills with individual coaching and informal critiques. You must be familiar with the use of your digital camera, but should also bring your camera instruction manual.
