Description
The best photos happen when everyone is having fun. The key is to set up the right environment so you can capture children as they really are, instead of that “Say cheeseburger” shot you might be tired of! If you just want better pictures of your family, are ready to make the leap to pro, already are a Pro, this hands on workshop will help get you where you want to be! Ross helps you get a better understanding of how the right environment, film, camera, and your own unique personality combine to make great children’s photos. We’ll begin by reviewing your work and then discussing special techniques and tips for shooting a wide range of ages. We will spend time getting a great understanding of the basics of lighting. You will participate in on- location shootings with Ross demonstrating his approach in a variety of scenarios. There will be time to critique the work that you shoot. For the Pros, we review presentation, marketing, and pricing of your work. Digital or film everyone is welcome! Bring your work, camera, lots of film or Flash Cards.

| Biography
ROSS WHITAKER is a New York Based photographer who specializes in shooting commissioned photos of children for advertising, catalogs, books, and editorial publications. After working in commercial photography for nearly a decade, Ross felt that no one was photographing children as they WERE, as opposed to what adults THOUGHT they should look like. This proved very successful, and on top of that, the workday is a pleasure for all involved. A few of his clients include: American Girl, Cheerios, Quaker Oats, Nabisco, Beechnut, Gerber, Enfamile, Dannon, Triaminic, Tylenol, GE, Fisher Price, Stride Rite, Sesame Street, Samsung, Evenflo, The Discovery Channel, and Disney. Ross is also a regular contributor to: Parent and Child, Family Circle, Prevention, Brides, Baby Talk, Mothering, and The Parenting Group.
