Jill will explain how to set up a darkroom (or dim room) for alternative processes where none exists, and will discuss the materials needed.

She will cover how to make different types of negatives (paper negatives, digital negatives), that can be used for making alternative processes print.
Jill Enfield is a fine art photographer, educator, curator, and author and has been teaching photography for many years with a concentration on historical techniques and alternative processes. Her three books: Photo Imaging: A Complete Guide To Alternative Processes published by Amphoto, and, Jill Enfield’s Guide to Alternative Processes: Popular Historical and Contemporary Techniques (First and Second Editions), published by Focal Press, are award winning books, and used in schools all over the world. The books include step-by-step instructions on a variety of techniques including: wet plate collodion, dry plate modern tintypes, platinum and palladium printing, cyanotypes, liquid emulsion, albumen printing, hand painting, and more. Jill’s fine art images can be seen in many museums around the world as well as in private collections.
Before class starts:
If you need to withdraw from a virtual workshop, please inform us at least 7 days before the day of class and we will refund your payment, less a 10% withdrawal fee. No refund of payments will be made if you do not notify us of your withdrawal 7 days prior to the start of class unless a replacement is found to fill your vacant space. If a replacement is found we will refund your payment less the 10% withdrawal Fee. Please note that no refund of any fees will be made for no-shows or withdrawal after a workshop begins.
