Please see the description below for the additional workshops in this Youth Winter Workshop

Day 1 – Blowing Rocks Preserve – Thursday, Dec 27, 2018

Students will meet at the Centre to review techniques that might be helpful for the upcoming location shoot. Before heading out to Blowing Rocks Preserve, students will have the opportunity to practice their photography skills by photographing the crashing waves and geysers that form against the craggy Anastasia limestone, that makes this beach so special. With high tide expected to be around noon, it should be a perfect day to capture the amazing geysers that can reach as high as 50 feet.

Day 2 – McCarthy’s Wildlife Sanctuary Friday, – Dec 28, 2018

Students will meet at the Centre to review techniques helpful for the upcoming location shoot. Then they’ll be off to McCarthy’s under the careful guidance of photographer Shane Srogi. They’ll test their skills and try new techniques in this up close and personal wildlife experience. Students will encounter animals in a comfortable and safe setting— taking photographs at unrivalled closeness. You won’t need to go on a safari to see these creatures! This Class requires an additional charge of $35.00 for McCarthy’s entrance fee.

Day 3 – Grassy Waters Preserve, Capturing The Everglades – Thursday, Jan. 3, 2019

Adventure and the Everglades are closer than you think!

This one day workshop is an opportunity for your child, ages 9-17, to join our staff photographer for a trek out to West Palm Beach’s famous Grassy Waters Preserve. Together they’ll explore this extraordinary 20-square mile native wetland and wildlife sanctuary in this beautiful outdoor photographic experience.

Our staff will teach your son or daughter all areas of nature photography from the basics of image-taking to adding creative techniques such as fill-flash.

Back in the classroom, students will receive a critique of their work, plus create a portfolio of their best photographs. Our staff will help your child capture dramatic nature images, and make sure he or she has a great time doing it!
