Geographic Images by 22 International Artists March 25 to May 26, 2017 Public is Invited to FREE Opening Reception on Friday, March 24, 6 to 8 pm (West Palm Beach, FL – March 7, 2017) Fatima NeJame, president and chief executive officer of the world renowned Palm Beach Photographic Centre (PBPC), today announced the nonprofit organization’s next international exhibition: PHOTOGRAPHY OF PLACE March 2 to May 6, 2017 "Curated by Raymond Merritt, this stunning exhibition will present photographs by 22 different artists that are best known for their images of specific geographic places,” says NeJame. “The photographers range from grand masters to accomplished amateurs and as diverse as the places they capture on film." The artists from all over the world featured in PHOTOGRAPHY OF PLACE include in alphabetical order: + Eugène Atget was a French photographer noted for his determination to document all of the then existing architecture and street scenes of Paris before their inevitable disappearance due to modernization. + Fern Berman studied photography at the Art Institute of Boston and the New York School of Visual Art. Her abstract images of place focus on the color and patterns found in her neighborhood. April 4 - 6, 2017 Description Good sports photography requires instincts, timing, knowledge of the game and an understanding of the emotional currents which run through all athletic endeavors. Whether photographing your child's soccer game, little league, basketball practice, or attending a professional sporting event, the principles of photographing action and movement are the same. In this workshop by a leading sports photographer, and former photography editor at Sports Illustrated, you will learn to take better sports and action photographs. Drawing on examples culled from Adam’s nearly 30 years in the field, and through daily assignments at sporting events in the area, you will become immersed in the elements which go into producing powerful and dynamic sports imagery. Based on years of experience covering major professional events and Olympic competitions, as well as other editorial experiences, Adam will introduce the tools, techniques and tips that professionals use to read the action, and produce winning photographs; techniques which can be employed no matter what level of competition you wish to photograph.
