Led by Julie Adair King, author of For Dummies guides to Canon and Nikon dSLR cameras, this three-day workshop helps you move beyond Auto mode so that you can take control of exposure, focus, color, and other picture characteristics. In the fun and easy-to-understand style that makes her books so popular, Julie explains how settings such as f-stop, shutter speed, ISO, and White Balance affect your pictures and then shows you how to access those settings on your camera. You’ll also be introduced to your camera’s playback features, to the basics of using a built-in flash, and to digital concepts such as resolution and file type (JPEG or Raw). Classroom lectures are followed by photo excursions and picture reviews that will reinforce your newfound knowledge.
(Note: This workshop does not cover dSLR movie recording. Please check course offerings for a listing of classes devoted to that subject. Also please specify your camera model when enrolling.)
