And yet, in this digital era in which we have far more control, it is still key decisions we make at the time of exposure that will set the basic quality and composition of the image. This workshop is designed to give you a refined understanding of the many options available at the point of exposure and to appreciate how these options can work for (or against) what you are trying to accomplish. Meehan will show you through multiple examples, the impact of different types of framing to emphasize or deemphasize different visual elements in a composition. How aperture selection controls the all-important process of depth of field DOF through compression, decompression or isolation. How deciding to zoom or change camera distance to subject position will impact DOF and the composition differently. How the type of lens selected (wide angle, normal or telephoto) along with perspective and DOF controls the importance of different parts of a scene.
