Advanced Lightroom Develop Module with John Reuter
January 21, 2021 from 6 – 9 pm
The Develop Module in Lightroom continues to gain new tools and functionality. From the simple elegance of the Basic Panel to the new Color Grading panel just added Adobe makes Lightroom an even more powerful image editor.
This seminar will take you through several workflow scenarios that take advantage of the new tools as well as the classics. Curves has historically been the purview of Photoshop and offers far more than basic tonal correction. Lightroom offers two versions, the Parametric Curves, a great way to introduce Curves and the Classic Point Curves. Coupled with the Targeted Adjustment Tool Curves can now be an extremely intuitive way to correct your images both tonally and through color correction.
Adobe has added a new color correction feature called Color Grading, which replaces the Split Tone panel (but keeps its functionality) with a 3-way color corrector found in video software. It allows “cinema” like color grades for your images and can be an impressive creative tool.
We will also focus more on Black and White conversions of your color raw captures to create the most full-ranged black and white images. It is like having eight color filters to use simultaneously to adjust the black and white tones associated with the underlying source colors.
We will focus as well on the Local correction tools such as the Gradient and Radial filters. These are greatly enhanced by the Range Mask tool which allows for far more precise selections once you draw your basic gradient. The Brush Tool within the Gradients allows for precise enhancement to the broader adjustments that these tools make on your image.
Capture sharpening, noise reduction and Lens Corrections round out our explorations in this deeper dive into the powerful Develop Module in Lightroom Classic.
